I don't think it looks that nice and those short arms aren't too great for high speed stability. Why not get a nice oil over setup like from heidts, kugel components...and many others.

thanks how does this one look its from Heidts? it seems that people are saying that the Mustang II designs have problems with the design of the cross member and that they crack from stress....people are also saying that the strutless designs are poorly engineered and doomed for failure.....i am just learning about suspensions and alot of this is new to me. the car will mostly be a street cruiser no high speed events other then legal highway speeds (+ 10). thanks for the help. bob

heres the one from Kugel, how about the Phase I with mild steel arms tubular arms

Personally I like those much much better, why go for older type coil & shock stuff when this is available.

thanks whats the deal about the "design flaws" of the A arms not having struts? or the crossmembers not being strong enough?

Bobo made up my mind. Chris is not going to touch my motor & I'm not going w/new crate. I remembered this guy who builds race car motors and has been in the business for 30 years. His name is Rich Aman and I spoke to him today. Dropping off the block after the Christmas & New Year holiday and Rich is going to put together a 350/350 or 383 street motor for me, depenting on the $$. I'm a happy man.

Wow, that hotrodders forum thread was very insightful. I think that a MII suspension is way too light weight for a truck. A true a-arm suspension should be used. Do you have an approximate weight for the front end of your '37? Are you going to run aluminum heads?

the whole car i think is approx 2800 lbs, mine is not a PU but a 4dr sedan, the engine will not have aluminum heads. the front end from Chassis engineering inc is designed for this apllication but as Twin turbo says it is old technology with the seperate coils and shocks. But then the car is going to be old technology....

I have heard this before about stock mustang being too lightweight for a truck so a friend of mine did some research.Mustang with a V6 weights 2812 lbs with V8 2979 lbs.Ford pick-up with small block weights 2700 lbs.I will be using glass fenders and grill and alum heads.
