Lol sorry i just go off quick on somethings. Like if somone says some sh.t on me ill go off on them, Sorry about that. Ya but i have dreamed of having a c3 since i was really young like 7 or 8. Going to carlise at all there shows and then the best Corvettes at carlise just watching them, Taking pictures of something one day i wish i could own. My dads all for it his second car was a 69 corvette, and we sold a year ago our 84. Parts ya arnt expensive, but this will show if i can truely buckle down and save my money and work hard.

I have to buy u-joints(120$ for the 4 half shafts and the 2 drive shafts) Then i am going into the engine, NOT CHEAP AT ALL. Heads headers(cant wait for my sidepipes going to save big for them) cam, manifold,Carb. Then from there on i dont know. I will keep posting pictures of my progress online, But thats the beautiful thing about it, When im done i have something i can say I WORKED LONG AND HARD FOR I AND I BUILT THIS. and this all i want.

Good luck with everyone and there corvettes, i cant wait to start mine and get into it.

I'll translate this one:

LOL. Sorry, I just go off quick on certain subjects. For example, if someone gives me ****, I'll go off on them. Sorry. I have dreamed of owning a Corvette since I was younger (since 7 or 8 years of age)....

Sorry. Cannot continue...now my head hurts.

Dr Jay,
I agree and can't help but wonder what kids are learning in school these days. Are grammar and spelling electives?

Any time a job application or resume come accross my desk if the spelling is bad or if it isn't filled out correctly it goes immediatly into the shredder. What is also an imediate shredder candidate is a job application that was filled out by someones kid or spouce.

"accross"? "immediatly" "imediate"? "spouce"?

Since when is spelling a requirement for operating heavy equipment?

On the other hand, the backhoe operator who cut my underground data conduit THREE TIMES, needed a lesson in English comprehension!

Wow, Its weird you guys have nothin else to do cept be *******s because i dont feel like spelling right and using correct grammer. Look man look what this is A CORVETTE FORUM, not a job application or a resame, or a essay for school, or to get into a collage. When grammer and spelling acually counts on this ill use it, I will not spend my time that i could be doing better sht with my life to spell right for ppl like you.

if you cant read what that says whats a matter did you drop out in 2nd grade, I bet even a 5 year old can understand that sentence. Btw a human mind can acually make out words with it missing letters so if you cant pick that out Umm learn to. And grow up seriously your gona ragg on a kid cause he doesnt want to use proper grammer. Wow rnt you bit wanna go tell all your old friends now?? So heres a 15 year old telling a older guy to GROW UP ironic eh

My point exactly. I know my typing is terrable, and my spelling really sucks when I think faster than I can type. The ability to read, and comprehend a set of blue prints is terribly important in my field of work. If an employee couldn't read a warning (buried electrical cable) someone could get killed. I appreciate the critcism It makes me want to do better.

Thanks
DR. Jay

For the original poster, a couple of points:

#1. In the real world, first impressions count. On a forum such as this, how you type constitutes that first impression.

#2. As I understand it, you are not getting this car till this weekend. So, how could this kid be slamming your car if you don't even have it yet? The impression I get is that you were bragging about "your" Corvette. If that is the case, it sound like you were trying to be the BMOC (big man on campus) and got called out. You bought it upon yourself.

#3. A 17 sec Camaro in the parking lot is still faster than a car you don't have yet or a car with busted U-joints. See #2.

#4. High school may seem like a big deal right now but it is very little in the big scheme of things. I was cursed with a high GPA in high school. Super geek. Asked a cheerleader out and got shot down. Drove an old Nova when everyone else had daddy's BMW. 20 years later, the highlight of their life may have been being the homecoming king or queen. I dont know and I don't care. As for me, 15+ years in the Navy, the pic in my avatar was the view from my office for over 10 of those years. Been to Japan (multiple times), South Korea, Guam, Saipan, Iwo Jima, Australia (twice), Hong Kong (4x), Singapore, done the ditch (Suez Canal), Persian Gulf/Dubai, flew over Iraq in support of Operation Southern Watch for three of my four deployments. Been married, have a great daughter, been divorced. Made a lot of great friends, had a lot of great times, had some bad ones.

Bottom line: Your life is what you make of it, not what others think of it (your life that is).

Thats the point I was wanting to make but didn't want to step on his toes anymore than I already have.

Back when I was 19 years old a guy that used to hang with the same crowd I did always bragged about what he didn't have. It seemed like his stories were bigger than his wallet.

Considering how well you spell, the odds of you getting into a 'collage' are pretty good. A COLLEGE on the other hand is probably something you'll ever see the inside of...oh, and it's GRAMMAR.

amen, my illiterate brutha!

Not criticizing...just bustin' your chops.

Luckily, the conduit the backhoe guy cut was filled with low-voltage wiring.
