Dang, I MUST be tired to be wasting my time on this thread!

I speak and write English fluently (and I must admit, I'm VERY impressed with TwinTurbo's command of English, which I assume is at least his second language), passable French, was fluent in Japanese when I lived in Japan (it's been a a decade or two since I've had opportunity to speak it though, so I'm not so fluent now), and now living in northwest Iowa am picking up an increasing amount of Spanish by osmosis. Do yourself a favor and don't butcher the (one?) language you have some grasp of! Well crafted language will make favorable impressions...sloppy language (written or spoken) will just turn people off.

...now I need to get back to work.

P.S. Post the pics already!

I've been really impressed with the Dutch command of the English language. A lot of them are better at it than a lot of the natives here (Iv ya gnaw wot I meen, like, innit). What you guys will be really impressed with is that many of them speak with a slight US accent

Yeah, me too, hard to believe that he writes so fluently and so coloquially correct. I dont want to appear nosy but have you (TT) ever spent time where proper english is the norm as opposed to the native tongue, please dont take offense at the question,,, but you are an impressive guy. Peace,,,Moosie
As an afterthought,, my kids are typical teenagers ages 16 (just) and 17 (soon to be 18) and they speak what I consider to be english , not like the crap that Snoop Dogg was spewing on the commercial with Lee Iococca, they have friends come over who speak that kinda trash and I just cant understand them and ask for a translation . They look at me and say,,, we thought you were cool. ???

When I had a new '78 Trans Am a guy starts ripping on me about it at a party. Get this, he had a '78 Formula, so I said to him "the only reason you don't like my Trans AM is because you could only afford the Formula". He never said another bad word about my Trans Am. I get young people all the time coming up next to my Vette, reving and such. I just grin and cruise away. Once a kid was ripping on me a little and I just said "Let's both put our cars in a show and see who get more attention/votes" He shut up. For some reason many rodders out there think the only thing is how fast it goes. I would rather have a great looking ride a few seconds slower than a fast piece of crap. It doesn't bother me that my '78 is not a speed burner; it's interest is the novelty of the car itself. I see many cars at shows that are interesting pieces of machinery. When this kid rips you just smile and shake your head at him without saying a word. He will wonder what is on your mind. Don't get sucked in to some arguement.

See which car the pretty girls would rather ride in, a classic Corvette or a piece of .... '91 plastic Camaro. Both cars will probably do the speed limit just fine. Keep your comments about his ride to yourself and let your car do the talking.

I think it is the Heineken beer that causes that.
