Hey guy's...I want to put new carpet in my wifes 77 corvette. We still have leaks when it rains hard..so I would prefer not to put down any felt underlay. Anybody got any suggestions on what brand , loop style etc. ect. And ball park price range would help as well

Check out Corvette Central, Ecklers, Zip, or other Supporting CF members.
I only have one question, Why put in new carpet if you still have a leakage problem? Seems to me it would be a good opportunity to fix the problem while to old carpet is out.
No reason to throw good money after bad (although some on this forum would argue that that's all we do ;-)

Sorry guys..I should have been more descriptive on troubleshooting the leaks in this car. I have installed a complete set of high end wheather stripping ,new windshield & caulking ,sealed the firewall cowl ,adjusted the side windows for optimum sealing , adjusted the t roofs for optimum sealing, cleaned out the firewall/ cowl drains. Appaerently 77's are prone to leaking in the fresh air vent area & short off removing the fenders to check out that area & seal up the debonded area....You get the picture. Unless anybody has any other ideas on how to seal up that area..I am stuck with it.

are you sure the fresh air door is closing?
on the 78 i recently bought the guy was going
because he couldnt stop the leaks.
i pulled the kick panels to inspect the birdcage area i
found the air door on pasengers side stuck wide open.
dont know what caused it but after i freed it up and
sprayed some lube it seems to be functioning perfect now.
have not had it in weather yet but when i washed it i didnt find
any water inside so hopefully that was my problem.
