Autometer Guage lights
Anyone have any experience or suggestions for good replacement bulbs for the Autometer Phantom gauges? Don't care for the green or red "rubbers" they sent with them to change the colors. They are 161's and 2.7 watts. Would like to brighten the lighting up a bit and maybe go blue?

You can get blue tinted bulbs at your local Advanced Auto or Autozone. The hard ones to find are the green tinted. I have the Phantom's also.

I don't know about wattage but they are brighter (the green ones, don't know about the blue) than putting those colored caps over the clear ones.

I'm really looking for more wattage than the "clears" without the colored caps. Maybe 4 watts?

I assume you want brighter, do you know about the LED option from Autometer? Supposed to be brighter but require a special module to be able to dim them and comparatively expensive.
