I have the Magnaflow mufflers and 2.5" Corvette Central pipes installed
on my 71. Both are very well made (pipes and mufflers). The mufflers sound great. Not loud, but a deep agressive rumble.
Has the classic muscle car sound (as much as you could
expect from a stock L-48).
I've got the same Magnaflow 2.5" stainless muffler although I did'nt buy them from CC. They sound great on my L48. I replaced the original exhaust system with true duals and no cats, that is where I gained in performance, you can really feel the differance. I also added Magnaflow oval stainless tips, just for something differant. I've heard both and perfer the Magnaflow. Come over and listen to mine I'll be home all day
Magnaflow's on my '82. When first installed I thought they seemed too tamed, but after a couple weeks they seem to really come alive. I really love 'em now.
Has anyone used the Corvette Central Magnaflow Mufflers? If so how do they sound? Or perform?
L82 Headers back
I ordered the Corvette Central setup--but with 2 1/2" pipes and stock mufflers--after almost 4 years of chambered exhaust (on a daily driver), I decided quiet will be nice indeed. I'm sure I'll get the Magnaflow's in about six months...
I yanked the old exhaust system out yesterday and I'm just waiting for the new system to arrive. Meanwhile...
How do I swap out the muffler hanger (the one that's attached to the transmission mount)? Or, does the new hanger kit attach using the old (non-true dual) mounting bracket?
I used the original trans. mounted bracket for the pass.side and the
hanger in Your picture for the drivers side. Probably not the exactly
correct way to do it but it works.
I put a chambered system on my '72. Bought it from Ecklers and it fit remarkably well. Sound is GREAT, as close as you can get to the sound of side pipes yet fairly tame at highway speeds.
