Default Limerock picts.

Here are some pict of the HPDE event i drove at Limerock in Novemeber. One thing i noticed here is that the C5s were actually gaining the most ground on me in the straights, not to say they weren't faster in the corners too but damn they can pass me like i'm standing still on the long straights even with the throttle buried.

Cool pictures!

Now get out there and fix that engine! It's OK to have C5s pass you in the corners, but not on the straights... We're counting on you since you represent us C3ers collectively.

Looks like fun. My friend is building a 78 to run at Limerock. I'm going to build the tranny, rear end and rear bearings for him.

Turtle,
Way to ga man. Gotta love the drivin, even if you get passed. I havn't driven since sept.. I'm Jonzin to drive again. I had to go drive the go-carts just to get a fix this month. Step up to a stroked small block and see if they can catch you. It's only money!

Yep, I need to borrow your 434. I've been looking for an aluminum block to stroke.

Bangkok,

Nobody running new mustangs yet. The mustangs that are there are stripped out and highly modified as are the BMWs. At least half of the people in that run group trailer their cars there. A lot of them running hoosier racing slicks on 17" wheels. Everyone else running modern street tires.

I'm running POS 255/60/15 Indy 500s. A few guys were making fun of my tires at limerock.

Nice! Now if I move to southern Maine (more inland of Biddeford) and can get my C3 up and running, we can better represent the C3 crowd at Limerock HPDE track days.

I am currently working on a 383 stroker. My long-term goals include an overly built suspension (5-link rear, composite springs front & rear, race shocks, all the goodies) and a smallblock 427 based on an LS_ block.

Good point; it's all about the driving. I drove my Rabbit (with a good number of suspension modifications and some Falken Azenis) in group 1 at an HPDE in August of last year and had a blast. I can't wait until I can afford to do my next one, and hopefully it's in the Vette.

I did end up passing more cars than passed me and my instructor was impressed. Group 1 wasn't representative of my skill level though. I had experience in working for an indoor go-kart track and I had been around Infineon both for real and virtually. I hit the track capable of heel-toe shifting, being comfortable in traffic, setting up my passes, and knowing the line of the course.

At the end of the day my instructor told me that I should just enter as a group 1 driver at a few other tracks and then skip right into group 3.

Let me know if you come out! NHvette is also excited about getting involved. We also run at New Hampshire Intl., Mosport, Mt. Tremblant, Summit Pt and others.

Don't worry about how fast you are in comparison to others. Like i said, i'm running with highly modified cars driven by guys that eat drink and sleep this stuff. I'm talking hundreds of track hours of experience.

I'm going to try some better tires next season. I'm thinking i would need a 502 or 572 to catch the Z06s on the straight aways.

Les,

I encourage you to ****can the clay bar and q-tips and dedicate one day next summer to go to a race track instead of a show n' shine.

I can get you signed up for Mosport or Mt. Tremblant. Surely one of those tracks is less than a couple of hours drive from you house.

More fun than doing burnouts in a residential neighborhood. I gurantee it.

Let me know and we'll get your signed up.

claybar and q-tips...hahaha. I don't wash my Vette religiously and I'd love to try the track out. I'm sure I'd suck at it, but it's worth a try though.

Les, check those out. I'm guessing if you live in Ontario they might not be that far away. I could meet you up there next summer. You would have an instructor with you to help you learn the line and how to drive fast and safe.

I have not been on either track yet. Blew a head gasket on the way to Tremblant last summer.

Come out and just have some fun. Don't worry about how many cars you pass. If you let your ego get the best of you bad things can happen.

Mosport is about an hour and a half away. Tell you what I'll try and organize a day out with the rest of the Ontario guys and maybe you could swing by when it takes place.

come by and watch us run at Mosport then all of you could decide if its something you would be interested in.

The yellow c6 rolled at a HPDE at the Streets of Willow Springs, a track out in California.
