Update on '69 Can-Am
I am now trying to determine what must go on the '69 frame and am looking at Mid-America's Stage 4 suspension set up with a 360# fiber spring and hd front springs. It will make the car ride rougher, but handle better in the corners. Also looking at Steeriods.
BTW...I found a place locally that will blast and powdercoat my frame, so next week it goes in for powder! Can get it done for about $400. I can't remove the undercoating & any surface rust, prep the frame, and paint it for anywhere near that value and expect to have a lasting and durable job when I'm done. I'll probably have it back within 2 weeks ready to start putting parts on. I have '69 parts from an old frame and some new parts, but must determine what is usable and what to sell for cash flow.
And...just yesterday, I found a guy that has a Eckler sportwagon body and he says he may be interested in selling it for what he has in it. I will make arrangements to meet with him some weekend soon and see what this body really consists of and get some pix.
I also have a contact who has a '68 widebody Can-Am Coupe, but the last time I spoke with him, the price was too high for the condition the car is in. I took pix this summer on that one.
So little time and so many to save from the purists! Well, gotta go back to work. Happy New Year to all of you!
Marv
