I have a 76 that I am working on and it's getting time to pick a color. The car was orig a Buckskin with brown interior. I want to brighten it up a little and was thinking about yellow. I have to replace the interior with carpet, seats and door panels so I am changing it all to black. There are so many shades of yellow and I want an eye catcher, not a dull yellow. What do you think?
If you want to stick with the C3 theme, I like the Daytona Yellow of 1969 & 1970.
C4 Yellows were cool. The Competition Yellow used in advertising the ZR-1s I like.
C5 Millenium Yellow has a nice tone.
In my opinion, the further away from a pastel type of yellow you get, the better. Good luck in your choice.
To me there is not much difference between Competition Yellow and Millenium Yellow.
But then again, I have never seen them side by side.
But - either would have plenty of pop if you are wanting a yellow.
But - you have seen Liverpool's (Lvrpl32 or something like that) pro-touring C3 here, right? Not sure what shade of yellow that is - but it is one sweet car.
I wanted to do mine in Millenium Yellow until I found out the paint was nearly $1,000. We opted for the earlier Competition Yellow. Now I like this color more than the Mil Yel. Look in My Corvette Pictures or send me your e-mail I can send you some other pictures of my car and you can see what it looks like.
From: the land of a never ending frame-off resto-mod. May Visa have mercy on my soul.
I have a 1980 that will be ready for paint soon. It will be a 2 tone color scheme. Base color is frost beige (59) and the lower color will be viper yellow.
