I was sitting in my '82 today at a stop light when I noticed the passenger of a car going through the intersection almost get whip-lash from staring at my ride as they passed through.
What made it so much fun was that the passenger was a teenager, he probably had to ask his dad what that cool car was they just passed .
Brings back memories of the first time I laid eyes on a Vette and realized what a special car it was

I get a lot of that when I GET ON IT! The car's brown and just has ralley wheels, so it won't get a lot of attention on a regular basis -- unless I draw attention to it by doing a burnout or similar.

Hehe...Someday I'll get that look in my C3...
I get it when I drive my dad's '67 Jag, and usually it's women who pull up next to me and say, "Nice car!"
I know what it's like....Ain't it a great feeling?
Those kind of reactions are great and really boost the Ole ego or makes the head swell a little along with a lot of pride knowing you had a hand in how it looks now.
We went through a campground park area and drove by a family of 4
when all of a sudden the kids and Ole Dad spotted my car and they started tripping over each other and yelling and pointing with all kinds of neat comments about the car, Talk about making my day WOW!
And, don't forget the feeling that our passengers get too. Young models always ask me to pick them up in places their friends can see what kind of car they're going to the shoot in.

You have no say in this thread. With the babes you're hanging out with, you'll get stared at driving a rusty Pinto...

Speaking of models John havn't seen any from you in the new year yet.
Back to the thread The best was when I picked my daughter up after school (high school) she was embarrassed when all the kids were looking at the car and saying things like cool car, nice car. But that weekend when her friends were over later that night I saw the garage light on & she was showing off the 79. Made me a brow daddy.
Now my son on the other hand is always asking if we can take the vette places.

I just put the new exhaust system on this morning and I'm leaving for Washington at 145pm today to do a shoot. It's 65F and sunny--so Vette and boats (and model) today. Gotta start out the year right!
Those Corvette Central complete exhaust systems are a real breeze to install (I did it by myself). My only complaint is that the kit comes more complete than they say--now I'll have to return the donut gasket, 6 muffler clamps that I didn't need because the kit came with'em. Sounds good too--I got the 2 1/2" pipes with their quiet mufflers--only they're not so quiet; they got a great gurgle at idle.

Mine is all f'ed up. Passenger side hits the (auto) trans. Can't get the pipes to bolt up to the cross-member bracket. Gonna take it to a muffler shop for some "tweaking".
when i turned 18 i got my license, 5 months later i had my own set of keys to the vette. i think ive got the only key for the gas cap lock too. i drive the vette a whole lot more then my dad does.
Well, I didn't get the chance to drive my vette other than the test drive when I bought it (no brakes), but while trailering it home I stopped at a gas station and then a restaurant. At both places I could see heads turning and people pointing, one guy even came up to admire the car despite it's neglected condition. I had forgotten how much attention cars like these get. I can't wait until it's finished so I can cruise it around town!
