I bought a set of 4 from one of those traveling tool shows a couple years ago for about $30. They roll just fine and it gives me more room in the garage.
I was careful putting them together and used good grease to get the bearings to roll smooth. it took some time but well worth it.I put them under my sons Z28 and it rolls around pretty good.
I have a 3 car garage and with 1 set of these dollies I store my stingray, my sons Z28 and my 2 Lincolns (wifes and My daly drivers) 4 cars.
I really appreciate all the feedback. I think I'll take a pass on the cheap ones and keep a lookout for some better quality dollies.
I purchased a set from Ecklers for a friend, I forget the price but we put them under a big car & they do work well. You need two people for big car and to have better control when pushing the car inside a tight garage.
Without trying to sound really stupid, can someone give me a picture of their car on these things and maybe how you get them on it. I heard somebody say they didn't need a jack to get the wheels on these things, if that is true how do you get them on.
Also, do these serve your purpose well in the great north to get your tires off the ground for the winter?
I am trying to plan ahead since I am hoping to get a Vette this spring and I only have a 2 1/2 car garage. My Garage is pretty deep so I think I can 90 degrees and put it at the front of my garage, assuming I have something under the tires where I can spin the car. I hope I am making some sense here and that maybe somebody else has done this in the past that can give me some idea if it will work or not.
