Default body off resto progress

ok I think I am done taking stuff off this car. originally I was leaving the motor and suspension on and just cleaning and painting the frame well...

this is how I handled the springs with the weight of the and engine off the frame. it worked perfect thanks to a forum members suggestion. the hoist compressed the spring and you could release the pressure gradually to let the spring down.

I am blasting and painting all the suspension and hope to have it all back on by next weekend( ok maybe just the front), replacing all bushings with poly and replacing bearings. I got the rear spindles out easily and the bearings and spindles look fine but I will replace the bearings anyway. good news is someone was in there before me and replaced the parking brake shoes and replaced all the hardware with stainless pieces.

Looking good.
You might want to think about replaceing the brake and fuel lines while you have it apart.

Lookn' good!!! Good idea with the engine lift... I think on my next Vette. (as I discovered on this site) I'll build a home made inside compress using a long bolt that goes through the shock mount...this way, I won't scrape any new paint off...Keep up the good work!
