Default Ecklers all right by me!

A lot of people like to beat up on Ecklers but I've got to say all of my experiences have been very positive. Just today I asked if I could send back/exchange a couple pieces of weatherstrip that were in a full door/top weatherstrip kit for a couple better pieces (the molded ends on one of the A-pillar weatherstrip pieces wasn't quite up to my picky levels). The lady offered to send me out two new weatherstrip pieces at no cost and said to just keep the ones I've got. She said I can keep them as spares or do whatever with them. If I didn't like the ones I received she asked me to contact her and let me know. They would either find another supplier or do whatever to make it right. I explained that the ones I have were more or less fine except for some minor issues at one end which I contribute to a manufacturing anomoly (I know they are made by corvette america -- at least that's what the bag says).

Anyway, there was no muss, no fuss. I will continue to buy from them. I've ordered from Mid America and Corvette Central as well. I don't have anything negative to say about their service either. I have to imagine selling Corvette parts business is a darn competitive business these days with companies basically selling the same items, and Year One now throwing their hat into the ring. Service has to be a key element. Ecklers is all right by me.

I'm glad your experience with them was so good. Personally I did not have a lot of trouble with them, but I've been there very often... I do not like their store, especially on Saturdays they are busy but only open from 9AM - 2Pm (or was it 1PM ?) ... the friendliest person there is the lady in the pickup area... I just don't feel very welcome there, maybe I don't spend enough money there ??? Dunno.... I live only 25 minutes from Titusville but only buy there if I need that part asap.....

I asked for a CorvetteForum discount and the guy behind the counter rolls his eyes... WTF ????

Boy, am I glad I don't live within driving distance of Eckler's (or any other C3 part store), I would never have any money left.

Eckler's has treated me right for years--they're a bit pricey at times though.

I've always had good results with Ecklers along with all the other Corvette suppliers including Summit and Jeg's, been lucky I guess

Ecklers is ok but nothing more. Some years ago, I used to deal with a small corvette place in upstate NY. It was called Corvette Specialty Center. Those guys knew corvettes inside and out, every nut and bolt and were so helpful that I would never consider buying from anybody else, if they had what I wanted. Ecklers people don't know sh#t about corvettes and that is ridiculous. For such a well known business, one would expect more from them. I live close to there also, being in Orlando. I buy things from them nowadays since they are so close. However, I would never compare them to Corvette Specialty Center and have learned to expect very little as far as information or advice from them. I consider them a "fluff shop".

I've ordered several things from them, all with good experiences. Perhaps my time has yet to come...?

I don't see any problem with Ecklers as far as ordering parts and receiving them. My only criticism about them is that they are not a very knowledgeable bunch and it seems strange, considering that they are such a well known corvette vendor.

I deal with Corvette America, Corvette Central, Mid America, Ecklers and Zipp - all with no problems. Course I've spent a fortune at all of them between my 3 corvettes. If I've had a problem I call em and send the part back - they have always been very nice to me. Heck I wish we had a local corvette parts store close by. Then again I would be broke LOL

I have used them alot with never a problem. I always order on the Internet so customer service really not an issue. As far as prices go I am pretty good about comparison shopping and I find them to usually be the least expensive.

and they're not very friendly either... when you're at the parts counter you have to look thru their catalog and show them what you want, then you pay and then you have the honor to drive around the building and pick up your part at the pickup-area. If for whatever reason you get the wrong part you have to go back around the building and get back in line at the parts counter

I dealt with Ecklers and Zip on my projects so far and both have worked out fine. There is another dealer out there called Paragon I believe, any opinions on this group ?
Thanks

Prior to buying my Vette, I've dealt only with Year One and Classic Industries for parts ( I have 2 F-Body Trans Am's). They are soooo knowledgeable and helpful and know these cars inside and out. Eckler's, on the other hand, is a real chore to deal with. I've emailed them 3 times to have a catalog mailed out to me.....I have yet to see it!
