Third generation just right!

But look at the bright side;
To diagose a C-3 problem it only takes...
1 normal human (an old hot rodder/not named Bubba)
1 test light
a yard stick
a compression tester
a vacuum guage
a *working* tach (found with the $20.00 multi-tester-
*4,6,8cyl.tach*volts*amp*ohm*continuety* 4,6,8dwell*attatchable timing light)
To repair *regular* maintenance and wear items, or add some upgrades (not extreme upgrades or resto) all you need:
same multi-tester/meter
A pocket full of hand-tools
very little $$
But...OTOH...C-1,2,4,5,6 are not any cheaper to maintain or uprgrade.
One or two of them models will be a lot more $$$ for reg.scheduled maintenance.
One or two of them models cannot be diagnosed without the aid of a 6k computer, along with a $70.00 to $100. diagnostic fee.
Or or two of them models will need a catologue of tools just to simply rotate the air in the tires.
Or or two of them models will need a catologue of tools just to check the hubcap clip bearing flange(front left center only towards the rear).

Your 69 coupe certainly doesn't look like a pile of crap.
I think it's a nice looking ride. Mechanical problems can always be fixed.
Kurt
but thanks for the kind words

i'm a bit partial towards the C2's myself..........

but that's not to say I don't realy like the C3's, especially the chrome bumper cars. I'd love to have a chrome bumper C3 'vert in Steele Cities Grey / black interior , w/ AC sitting in the garage next to my '65.
As it is right now, I'm in the middle of negotiations on a very low milage '78. less than 9500 original miles and full documentation thru all three owners.
Of course, I'd also love to have a '59 or '60 C1 sitting next to the previous two car.
Yeah, that's it, I need a C1 and a C3 to join my C2 and i'll be very happy

oh wait, my wife likes the '96 C4's so i guess I need a garage to handle all 4 cars........

I love your avatar. Butters is my favorite SP character

Thanks, the North East gang gave me that nickname after a few trips to the strip club
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

maybe most/some younger gens. might think C-5/6 body style types...but on the average; its the Shark style.

I admire people that hung on to cars that they purchased new, kept them for 30 years, and are still able to keep them in running conditions pretty much using basic skills. I just couln't imagine that I'd be able to do the same with my Z06.
I want to buy a C6 so I can do the museum delivery, but I just can't get over the looks and how far it has moved away from my vision of the perfect Vette - it's just too.... tame, too civilized.
So I bought a C3 instead. It has personality. To me, it captures the essence of what a Vette should be - it has looks that snaps necks, and is just easy to work on and get to know. I can drive it and not worry about the mileage, depreciation, insurance, what happens when the warranty is over, and I can modify it till my hearts content. A C6 will lose more in depreciation in two years than I paid for the C3, and I'm having a blast fixing the little things to bring it back into shape.

I like all Corvettes - some more than others. When it came to getting my first - it had to be a C3. IMHO the shark has the best overall styling including the C6's. A sports car should drive & feel like a sports car.
If I wanted the feel of a Cadillac - I'd would have purchased a Cadillac!
