I feel like the C3 was what a corvette was supposed to be. Nothing against the C1,2 (too little) the C4 (UHHH nevermind) the C5 (a great sports car) the C6 (too early). I truly LIKE all vettes but the C3 is IMHO a CORVETTE. Opinions? (of course I posted this in the C3 section for POSITIVE feedback not flames )
I like my 1973 as it is my favorite of the C3s. I wouldn't mind a C1 or C2 though. My all time favorite Corvette is the 1963 Split Window Coupe...I would love to have one. I don't like the C4,5,6 generations at all. I know they are good cars but I dislike the styling.
I agree wholeheartedly. The C3 is just a timeless design. Not a fan of C1's, do like the C2's, not crazy at all for C4's, C5 so, so, wouldn't go out of my way to get one, C6 just can't get used to the looks yet.
I took my 72 out last week and my 62 and hands down the 72 is such a sweeter ride. They both have style, and looks, Thumbs up with either car, but if I come down to selling one this spring its going to be the 62. My feeling is that any day out cruising in any year Vette is an awesome pleasure. Take care
the C3 is really what a Vette is supposed to look like.
I personally believe when most people hears the word "Corvette"; a C-3 is the first image in their mind...I believe this is hands-down.
maybe most/some younger gens. might think C-5/6 body style types...but on the average; its the Shark style.
I really think the stock C-6 out-performs our stock C-3's in so many ways, is tons faster, better handling, more technology, ect...add way bigger $$$ too...it just will NEVER out-perform a C-3 in eye-appeal.
And; if you pull the emblems off of a C-6 its kinda hard to distinguish it from ricers...no, not up close, but from a distance, and at the front and sides...the rear will identify it.
Put a C-4 70 yards away...it could be a Camero or FireBird
Put a C-3 100 yards away (or more) there is no mistaken what kind of car it is.
I have worked on and driven just about every style corvette GM ever built... when it came time to buy my first Corvette I picked a '73 Convertible. The C1's are cool cars but a little too slow and WAY out of my price range... The C2's are nice cars with classic styleing but to me the early C3's are the ultimate muscle/sports car... for a toy!!!
