Oops, it has begun! Killer under the knife!

This car has been substantially together the way you see it now since 2002 with the addition of the 6 speed in 2003.
There are several things on the car that just bother me. First of all, I hate the bling-bling stuff under my hood. There are some minor fit and finish issues, and some more trick things I have been wanting to toss in.
Also...the stock brakes just don't do it for me. They stop fine for how I use the car, but look like junk behind my 18" rims. That is going to change...(stay tuned for some cool funkie stuff there).
I figured out how to add a standard late model cruise and high beam switch to the old tilt/tele column. I will be adding that mod and hidden cruise control. I am also going to re-shave my shaved firewall, re-route the a/c lines, and clean up the under hood with some trick covers and total re-thinking of the engine bay.
A power adder is also on the drawing board, but doesn't have to be installed right now.
As of this last weekend the motor and trans are out of the car and the project is launched.
Pics coming in a couple of days.
Here is an example of the level of cleanliness I am after. This is a picture of my 69 Camaro. This car has cruise, a/c, wipers, washer, and all the standard creature comforts you expect. But...can you see them in this picture? Now...imagine the big block C3 under this way of thinking, and you will know where I am going.

There is however one serious but fun twist here compared to before. Our budget is very tight (non for car stuff), so I am having to kick and scratch my way through this. Ebay really comes in handy as I have all kinds of parts stored away that I can sell and help pay for the project.
The other major difference here is I don't have any sort of a deadline right now. Usually I have a pretty strict drop dead date that I work towards. Not this time, so I will work my way through each system and component that needs attention until they are perfect. In the same respect, I hope to have it back together by the summer time, but nothing in stone there.
