terrific mufflers!! had them on a past firebird. they sound great. they are a different kind of rumble too. you can tell they aren't standard. very deep and absolutely no drone at highway speeds
i heard them on a mustang..they sound awesome. definitely different than a flowmaster or dynomax sound..i actually prefer it..if i were running an undercar system, i would run them.
They're great mufflers. My daily driven Rabbit has one [and a resonator to keep the volume down a bit]. When I get my Corvette running it is getting: full length headers, a 2.5" exhaust system, and Spin Tech mufflers without resonators.
Great mufflers, best sound out there IMO. I had a single 4" system with dual outlets on my Firebird a while ago, just amazing. Many people will say you give up a lot of horsepower with them much like Flowmasters, but I never noticed it in my setup (had dual cutouts ~16" from the header collectors for back-to-back testing). I'm doing a dual 3.5" setup with their pro-shootout race mufflers and an X-pipe on the Firebird when I finish it.

I had Spin Tech Mufflers with side exhaust on a Mustang before I graduated to Corvettes. They sound great. My nephew now has the Mustang and he thinks that is how cars should sound.
I switched from the side Exhaust to under chassis with Spin Tech. I love them. They sound awsome and demand attention. My system is a Dual 3" with an x-pipe. Flows great, sounds great, is great. What more could you want?
I had some video on here awhile back that had what they sound like at WOT going by. If I can find it I will post it here for you.
Later!
Ok, Found a video.
The car makes a couple passes by the camera. Video
That's an interesting design, but Spin Tech mufflers aren't designed like that. I wonder how many ricers are going to manage to put that muffler on some dumb Honda?
http://www.spintechmufflers.com/spin...ntechindex.asp Spin Tech mufflers are very boxy in terms of shape and have incomplete circles arranged internally; they almost look like the @ sign, except without the "a" part. The exhaust gasses flow very well, while sound gets converted into heat.
The incomplete circles are what the company calls "spin traps." These traps create a vortex and help to scavenge the exhaust gasses because of the venturi effect. With other mufflers, the venturi effect is created by scaling the outlet size down. Example: If your exhaust system is 2.5" in diameter in front of the mufflers, you'd get a muffler with a 2.5" inlet and 2.25" outlet. Spin Tech Mufflers don't need this tactic to create the venturi effect. Their venturi effect is made internally.
The one 2.25" muffler that's on my Rabbit is great. I can't wait to slap a pair of 2.5 inchers on the Vette when she's built up and back to street condition.
