Default frame off progress

I finished the front suspension, now all that is left for the front is the steering system and new brake lines. I mounted up my 17 x 8 rims and they really look wide. most people on the forum are running 17x 8 rims with no problems. it is just really hard to tell with the body off. give me some reassurance here that they will be ok. I ordered some 255/45/17's for the front.

You're getting way too much done. Meanwhile I haven't even SEEN my car in two months. I think you should take it all apart again and "finish off" the factory welds on the frame

I'm pulling the body on my 82 and was wondering, how do you disconnect the fuse panel from the wiring harnesses at the firewall?
I have taken out the couple of long bolts that hold it to the firewall. However, I do not want to pry the units apart to hard for fear of breakage.

Dont forget to upgrade those brake & fuel lines to stainless and get some new stone shieds for the lines too. Ita a detail that you wont regret with all the hard work you are doing

Default stone shielding

the spring like wire that wraps around the lines you called it "armor" it keeps stones from damaging the lines and helps keep kinks from forming. sounds like you in like flynn.

keep the pics coming i am inspired

DON'T DO THAT! You do not need to disconnect the fuse panel to pull the body. You need to disconnect the ground points of the frame to the body and engine that are made in the front around the headlights and at the starter motore and then the rear lights and that's about it. But do not, I repeat, do not disconnect the fuse panel.

You're fine. Withouth the body on, it's very hard to get perspective of how things like tires will look, etc.

You may already know this, but I've read (here on the Forum) that you shouldn't do final-torque on your control-arm bolts until you have weight (engine and body) on them. Also I have read to NOT tighten the rear leaf-spring attaching bolts (center ones) until you have the body on.
