Bubba is in third pic pic....see if you can spot it...pulled intake today to replace gaskets...glad I did as oil was weeping past gasket on drivers side...also flushed block/Rad and added new coolant...
That was quick...yep,coil mount apparently split, and previous owner clamped it back together...did not want to have it welded as I may switch to another intake soon anyway...
Hey Rich, what made you decide to replace the intake manifold?was it smoking?Darryl
He was bored! Probably drives the wife crazy, when he could be painting the house inside out, or building an addition onto the house, but no, he takes the car apart
JUST KIDDING Rich. . .Please don't hurt me
Actually if you've ever seen his Vettes up close you know he strives for perfection.

A very small coolant weep from a bolt would appear overnight..so that got me to pulling intake..once open, then I seen the oil traces at driver side ports....no smoke issues though...
Notice in first pic there apparently was no sealant used at water jackets on gaskets..something I do when replacing those gaskets...I flushed block/rad afterwards just in case...

That's the same way mine started, first I pulled the corner bolt and put some plumbers compound on the end, torqued it down and it was fine for about 6 months, then I started seeing the anti-freeze again so it was off with the intake. It actually was a fun job, took my time and did a little each day, did a lot of cleaning and was done after about a week.

I decided against the re-sealing of the bolts as with 20,000 miles,I wanted to see what was in there....and found the oil sealing issue...took me almost all day as cleaning intake/head surfaces was important for new gaskets...
I pulled the intake from the 78 four years ago tracking down why #8 plug kept oil fouling...it was the gasket..probably cooked by the EGR...also had to get corosion at water jackets welded...
