I say go for it. As far the price difference you can't expect an even trade because County Corvette needs to turn a profit. The plus side is that these guys are reputable and you know exactly what you're getting. I'd pay a few thousand for that kind of piece of mind. In terms of investment value my gut tells me you're better off with the 70. Plus it'll be a hell of a lot more fun to drive.
i would like to thank all for your opinions

just wondering if it is how you like it
i looked at that car, awesome car
still looking for that 70 vette for 35k, some huys were talking about
No my '69 is not from County Corvette, but I do get the sense that they know their stuff about Vettes. Mine was originally a 350 non-matching numbers and no original docs. Just did a SB to BB conversion with a 427, single carb setup like the 427/390, stock exhaust, probably makes around 400-420 hp.
Actually, the 69 390 (with the 400 intake) we had that was sold to a young couple from Texas, who flew in and DROVE the car home! They did so against my advise but made it back with NO Problems. That is why we feel our cars are worth a bit more than others. Most of the other big dealers out there are basically wholesalers selling at or above retail. They do not however, make sure the cars are mechanically sound. The 69 as well as the 70 in this discussion both have rebuilt engines. They could have been easily sold the way they were. They were not because they did not meet out standard which is pretty simple. The cars must perform at or above the same level as delivered new. I personally take out every car and make sure it runs right. So many of these big block cars are WORN OUT and run like SH*#. Go to any other dealer and ask them if you can take out a big block car and run it up to redline. Go to Ohio and try it and see what they tell you. That is the difference. Regarding values, if you are looking for cars that will appreciate rapidly in value, high compression big block cars are the ones to look at. 68-70 specifically as they can still be bought without a co-signer.
