What To You Think My 2 Cars Are Worth?
What Do You Think To 70 Is Worth?
Ive found that car values are subjective. I just bought my 76 and Ive found that the amount of money people spend restoring these cars far outweighs the actual "value". Its worth more to the seller, because they sunk money into it to restore the car, plus what they paid when they bought it.
I guess in the end you have to ask yourself what you plan to do with it. Is this something you think you may want to sell in a couple years? If so, you probably will lose money. If its something you plan to keep a long time and you dont really want to spend the money/effort to restore or partially restore a car, then spending over the listed street value of the car makes more sense (to me, anyway).
Id say that '70 cant be worth more than $35K in excellent/show room condition. I based that on the CPI black book I have, and Manheim's site.
If you want to go by standard "values", you could go here and here to look up values.

you can't drive that 70 as easily as your 95. two totaly different cars. depends on what you want it for. he owes you some cash on that deal.
but if you are happy with that deal that is all that matters
I Always Wanted A Big Block Crome Bumper Car
Must Be Really Nice As Much As Look Good Car As A Driver
I Bought To 78 And 95 Good Deals And They Wont Loose Money
Now I Am To Were I Can Trade Even Up For The Right Car
However I Will Not Do It If Its Not Money Smart
Thanks For All The Insight
How Much "car" Do You Think I Can Get For The Pace Cars
I think you should get cash back. A nice low mile L82 pacer with papers should be in the mid 20s-especially a 4sp. Not sure on the 96 but I would assume at least high teens, or in the 20s. 70 BB vert with nice paint is high 30s+ so a lot depends on condition and options on all of the cars.
like I said earlier, if you are happy with the deal that is all that matters.
never settle get the car you want, trust me. I was looking for a chrome bumper vette and settled for a very nice 81. I liked it but sold it and bought a 71 vert.
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INPUT
ANSWER A FEW QUESTIONS
THE 78 IS A L82 AUTO(IT HAS NEVER BEEN WASHED WITH WATER, OR THE PAINT FROZEN, ORIGINAL EVERYTHING BUT BATTERY)
JUST AFRAID DRIVING IT 1000K A YEAR WILL CAUSE ITS VALUE TO DECREASE)
THE 95 OPTIONS-ALL PACE CARS THE SAME(LOADED AUTOS) JUST 527
THE 70 HAS ALL ITS OPTIONS LISTED AT COUNTYCORVETTE.COM
1 MORE THING
ORIGIONALLY WHEN I LOOKED FOR 69-70 BIG BLOCKS FOR 35K ALL I FOUND WAS WHAT I CALL WRENCH TURNERS (WHEN THE WEATHER IS GOOD I WANT TO TURN THE KEY AND GO NOT GET UNDER THE HOOD)
THEY WERE NOT CLOSE TO PERFECT
CAN YOU REALLY GET A HIGH QUALITY FRESH REBUILT 70 FOR LESS THAN SAY 40K(CONVERTIBLE)
IF ANYONE HAS ONE I AM ALL EARS
THANKS IN ADVANCE

I don't know what any of them are worth, but is that the correct fan for an LS-5? Shouldn't the fan have little "tips?" Should there be an air pump too?
Thanks Jd Whealton
I Have Been Thinking About What You Said, The 2 Would Be More Fun Than The 1
I Agree And Think I Will Take Your Advice
The Only Question Is Money
In 5 Years Lets Say (i Know Its Only Your Opinions)

This forum is the worst place to ask somebody what a car is worth. When you are buying everybody will tell you that it's to high, but when they are selling it is a different story.
That 70 Corvette convertible 454 at County Corvettes is worth every penny of the $55,000 they are asking. Like you said other big block cars you looked at the prices were $30's and they were just cars.
Here is a turn key car that needs nothing and comes with original books, protecto plate, tank stick proving what that it's a real one.
You couldn't buy a restored correct 1970 Chevelle SS 454 or a 1969 Camaro SS big block or Z/28 for that kind of money. Remember 1970 was the strike year for Corvette not many cars built, combine that with a convertible 454/390hp one year only engine. That car has only one way to go and that is up.
You asked what will your two pace car be worth in the future. The 78 will go up a little your 95 will go down. C5/C6 cars will drive the price down on the 95. Look at all of the other special C4's built 86 pace car, 88 anniversary, ZR-1, 93 anniversary, 96 collector/grand sport.
You won't find a better place to buy a old Corvette than County Corvettes, Jim Jordan and his staff are Corvette people not just car salesman. Go there and look at their operation and know that you bought a real car not a made up POS.
Buying an "early shark" model year Corvette is a smart move. As the SHP versions of the 1968 thru 1972 years continue to soar in value, it drags the more common optioned cars along with it.
Prices on L-88's, ZL-1's, LS-6's are climbing leaps and bounds. L-71's, L-89's are closing in, followed by LT-1's.
Sure you can still find L-36's, LS-5's for less than County Corvettes '70 LS-5 convertible, but they are typical driver quality. Really nice '68 thru '72 big block cars are in this cars price range. Drive that torque monster (500 ft lbs @ 3600 rpms) with the top down and feel what it's like to have your spine compressed in to the back portion of the seatback! You'll get goosebumps. Not sure you could get that feeling from an L-82 auto.
