I would say this is definitely a 75 Corvette. The rear bumper has the spaced out lettering like the 74's or 75's did.
For the price that you are talking about, I would by it in heartbeat. Put a few repair $$ and you could make out quite well. Good Luck .
PM me the guys # if you don't buy.
Something smells a little fishy though; does he have a title for the car? After two years I would suspect one of the corvette wreckers would have bought it up, but they can’t without a title.
It’s a 75
76 had Vega steering wheel and corvette on the rear bumper was one emblem
74 had a split down the centre on the rear bumper. Where the front bumper meets the fiberglass the grove is v shaped (74), on the 75 it is indented between the headlights.
The leavers are for the vents at you feet, my 75 non AC vette has them it also has Corvette under the wiper controls (replaces AC ducts that would come out there).
1) 89.7 CDN cents a liter is equivelant to 2.96 USD/US Gallon.
2) Canada does not have titles. Owning a car is like owning any other large object. You can buy and sell them with without much paper work. A handrwitten bill of sale is required to register it, but that's mostly so they can collect the sales tax.
3) $750? Are you nuts? Buy the darn thing immediately. Worst case is you part it and sell it on ebay making about 10 grand. My ony concern is that it looks like its a garage. Could be that someone kid couldn't afford his repair bill and now the shop owner is selling it to get it off the lot.
The kid might show up at your door wanting his car back.

I guess that’s how it might work in Manitoba but here in Ontario (where I live) we need the Green ownership paper (AKA: registration, title, vehicle permit) to register a car.

Yeah, that's how it works in Manitoba. I can see you having some of that stuff if you've registered the car before in your name, but in a private sale does the previous owner give you his registration and permit? All we get typically get is home made bill of sale.
You need the registration in Ontario or you don't own the car. It's called a permit transfer. A bill of sale is fine but provincial tax payable (7%) is based on a database for model and year. The days of selling a car to a friend with a bill of sale for $100 are long gone.

I numbered your comments so I can ask questions about each part.
1) OK, there is paperwork here in Manitoba that needs to be filled out when I register a car to drive it on the road. If its the first time youv'e registered it, then they write up a vehicle transfer form. They enter this info into the computer. I think its used to track the odometer for fraud.
However, I don't need to "register" the vehicle to own it. I can buy a car and park it on the back lot and then sell it two years later without ever registering it. There's no piece of paper that goes with the car like a deed or title. Is Ontario different in that a permit transfer is always required - even if its a parts car?
2) Well, you can still try and fake a bill of sale here in Manitoba.
(Not that I'd ever do that ) But if its obvious, then they pull out the books and charge you on the book value.
Well, he wanted $750.00, I offered $500.00, we agreed to split the difference so $625.00 was the number, and I get to leave the car there for 60 days if needed. (I'll insure it, for fire / theft.)
It is a 1975, and I now have the ownership slip, (was registered to him) so I'll go tomorrow and change it over into my name, I now own 3 1/2 vette's.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and comments.

How could you ask if that was a good deal? Any vette is worth at least a grand, even if its a parts car.If you don't buy it, call me,I will buy it,sight unseen.I also live in Ontario.

what a stupid thread and a stupid question. Look at any vette parts vendor and you could blow $500 in a minute on a small amount of parts. I don't know about the rest of the club but I'm getting a little sick of the "what's it worth" or "how much can I get for it" threads. If you don't know what a vette is worth or how much to ask for your daddy's vette then your not a real vette forum member.
