Default Paint or not to paint ?

I just purchased a 72 coupe, all original # matching car. The car has 41,000 miles on it. Super clean car with all the paperwork. The only problem is the paint. It is checked, like laquer does after 33 years. I was thinking about painting the car , or would it be better to just leave it alone? Thanks for any input. I was thinking a paint job may destroy the value.

Was thinking of showing the car. Not sure right now. I bought the car because I felt it was a great find.Purchased from original owner. I will drive it also.

If you're planning on keeping it and the paint is a distraction, then get it repainted. The original paint lasted 33; the new paint job should last at least that long.

If you don't enjoy the car because of the paint, then paint it. If you don't care, leave it alone.
