ZL-1 Sighting
This weekend I was at the NCRS Regional Meet in Kissimmee, FL and lo and behold, there it was. It was great to see it in real life. Here are a few pics:

According to them it's a ZL1. It's also an automatic!!

]Anyhow, I'd think a purchaser would really want to know why those exhaust holes in the rear were not closed out. The L88 and I assume the ZL-1 cost about 60% more than a stock Corvette (?) and if I ordered one with factory headers I would be annoyed that it didn't have the rear exhaust holes closed out.
........Another interesting thing. Does the car look like it has a coolant filler cap on the thermostat housing???
.........and another critical comment (am I getting close to sour grapes here?), If I had a ZL-1, I think I'd have the stock metal wheels that it had when it came from the factory. If this is a real ZL-1, it's worth several 100's of thousands and why have some early 70's Saturday night cruiser wheels on it.
When I said 100's of thousands, I was thinking of reading that a 1957 Chevrolet sedan sold for $205,000 after commissin at Barret-Jackson last week. I've read that one L88 sold for $600,000.
Soooooo. Anyone know why the rear exhaust holes in the rear valance weren't closed out. GM did sell original body parts that had these holes closed out. I'd think that if you bought a car with sidepipes, either GM provided Kustom headers or the factory supplied sidepipes, it'd come with those rear valance holes closed out. If this car ever goes up for sale, I'd think someone should have an answer.

So not only is it real, it is a one-owner car.
The car may or may not be a real ZL1 and this has been debated and re-hashed many, many times here and in other forums & publications.

Corvette Fever included a pic of the actual tank sticker with the appropriate RPO codes for a ZL-1. Not saying that in and off itself makes it a real ZL-1 but the tank sticker appears authentic... not a copy.
