I have an aftermarket cassette player that looks (sorta) like an OEM radio. Dont know what kind, but maybe the USA brand Ive seen in some catalogs.
Id like to get a CD changer and just leave the cassette player as it is. Just something with a little remote to change tracks, etc. Anyone have any recommendations?
I had a CD changer in mine with a **** job radio for about 6 minutes, didnt like the sound, (a kazoo would have been better) ended up going with a DIN style CD player. Best decision I made yet for that car
Unfortunatley, this is the only pic I could find, *warning, unfinished interior*
I added a sound bar behind my seats no cutting just a side pressure fit and only 3" thick. I got it from Corvette Central part # 103416, it added a much better sound. Stock vette speakers are low ohms, and don't work well with newer radios etc.

I thought about using that, but since my car is devilishly loud, I still wouldnt be able to hear it
Mounted a 400w amp to the rear wall and a pair of boxed 6x9's just 'hanging out' back there till I can design something that will be stationary (and look stock as well)
If the damn gas tank wasnt back there the speakers would be flush with the amp
I believe you have enough speakers. Go back to Best Buy, it takes 1/2 hr to hook up. If you don't like it, return it, as long as you have the bill and box, they'll take it back.

If you are talking to me, I have 4 speakers. the guy said it didnt come with a wireless remote. He could have been a tard though. I had one in my 95 Mustang and it came with a credit card sized remote.

Before I gave up on the Custom Autosound radio I built a watertight Lexan box to mount the Custom Autosound in the right rear where the RH muffler would normally reside (I have side pipes). It was slick, but I couldn't keep the radio operational. I now run an iPod into a hidden amp under the dash playing through the factory speakers.
I think cd changers are going to go the way of the eight-track. Have you considered an iPod? They have adapters that plug into where the cd changer would plug into. Just a thought.
If Im going to pay all that money for an iPod and the accessories to get it to work with the car, I may as well by the pre-cut bezels for a DIN player.
Sits between my seats, I used a small piece of sq. velcro tape to keep it there while driving. Just cut the velcro small enough so it's not seen. No hole, no mess, perfect.
How about the 25.00 MP3 modulator from Walley world...Just put your songs on a memory stick (holds more than a changer). Plug it in the cigarette lighter and plays thru the radio. Small and easy to use...can move it from car to car
I bought an iTrip for it. Its just a small sleeve that you slide the iPod into. It too plays through the radio. It has a mini USB port in case you want to plug it into the lighter. But the iPod has 14 hours of life, so I didnt buy that.
Works pretty good.
I got an iPod Nano. The 4 gig version. Hold about 1,000 songs. That should be plenty for me.
