Whoa! That would be a fun project and cool car to cruise in when done though (that is if you actually dared to drive it!)

1 bid so far, not really suprised. Being serial number 148 is far from 003, which I believe is the oldest car still in existence and why it claimed a million dolar price. I've seen other 53's go for between 150-200 restored. I think he may be a little too proud of it.

Doesn't this Vette look like the one that was on Ebay and was a barn find that ended in the $8X,XXX range?

That looks like the one I saw at Carlisle a few months ago. Or maybe all '53's look that way with no paint.

This Vette was used to attract Brim in the bottom of a pond in Louisiana since 1969.....

According to the book he's not that far off, he's only about 10,000 high (right now). I would try to get that much over as well with this car. And prob. could.

Lot of money, but that is quite a car if it is all he says it is. Not my cup of tea, but a good project for just the right C1 guy.

Waste of digital camera film (IMO). Doesn't do anything for me even if it was available for 4000.00.
Takes the right person...but I'm sure he'll find em (already got one bid).

If I had the $$$$$ I would buy it in a heartbeat and do a frame off. At one point my 68 looked like that.

If he has a bid of 99k, it just goes to prove that there are people out there with more money than common sense.

Looks like he has a couple Corvettes sitting out in his field. You can see a C3 in the background of this one.

It's a '53, first year, only 300 were built. The word "rare" doesn't even begin to apply. I'm not a huge fan of the first body style, but it would be a great project for the purist collector or an automotive museum. Looks like it's mostly complete and original.

They don't really interest me despite their rarity. If I was wealthy and had a large collection it would be cool to have. I can think of a lot of other cars I'd rather have though.
