Default headlight adjustment help..pic

Does anyone know how to adjust the top of the headlight door forward, It's started to rub the paint above the incloser when it opens. I loooked in the service manual and it only seems to adjust the up and down. Thanks

Mine did do that. the cause was the fibreglass separating from the metal at the rear or the headlight. If you push down on the body behind the light does it move? I had mine rivited and glued...problem solved.

Raise the headlights and remove the front bezel. Look in to the left and right there are two brackets. Loosening the mounts (brackers) on the left and right side...I think they are triangler shaped...3 bolts on each.Move the whole thing forward and tighten. You may get 1/8 of an inch or more.

There also two rings on the rode with an allen key screw ...one on the left and one on the right. Adjustment for left to right. They loosen some times. Check them. Are you sure you need to go forward? and not left or right?

As JDP said, loosening the three bolts on the hinge holders will allow you to adjust the positioning of the doors up and down as well as forward and backward. I would definitely look carefully at the header bar, though. Once the doors are positioned, you should not need to adjust them. If they have recently started rubbing, and there's no obvious cause (front damage, other work in this area of the car, etc.), the bond between the nose fiberglass and header bar may be coming apart. There are several good discussions about how to re-seal and replace this bond.

Thanks all, I wondered about the hinge point with the 3 bolts. It seemed to be a fixed mount. I'll try it. Thanks again.
