Thanks for the approval
on the polishing.
80 Vette: When you get your outside, you will be surprise how the sun will make them glow.
Frostbitten09: Wish I had an answer for you. Our vette is a 81. and the wheels did not come with center black, maybe someone else has an answer on how to remove.
PCFred: Your wheels look great.
Here's another shot of the right side. These wheels had been in our garage for five years heavy oxidized, and again the trick after removing the heavy stuff is to finish polishing with a small amount of water, I used the turtle wax polishing compound.
Send pics of your polished wheels, like seeing how everyones came out.

Used
on mine wheels.
I also used a electric drill and and buffing wheel just like "1981 corvette".
It was so easy, so I also polished the rear of the wheels!

On the 1980-1982 wheels I use paint stripper to remove the old clear coat and then buff them with the drill and the 4" pad. they come out like chrome.

surprisingly once you get them really well polished they are not that hard to keep up.

Do you apply any type of wax after polishing to maintain the shine?

After I polished the wheels I just couldn't stop.
The alternator, heads and water neck also got some passes with the buffing wheel.
The result was amazingly good.
Look at the reflection from the water neck!

drswitala: The only product I use on the wheels after I polished, is something I leaned here on the forum, windex; easy to use and no mess.
