hi all

just wanted to say hi.
i'm normally mostly in the C1/C2 forum since I have a '65 coupe but I just made a deal on a '78 L82 with only 9489 original miles.
I should have the car sitting in my garage in about two weeks

unfortunately, because it was driven so little during it's life it's been a bit neglected and needs some work - it needs new paint badly and the engine bay needs a lot of clean up to manke it presentabe but the frame is super solid and the interior is in overall good shape.
I'll fix it up to the condition it deserves. i'll be doing the engine/engine bay work myself so will probably have a lot of questions eventually since I'll run into a lot of things I'm not familiar with such as the pollution control stuff ad the vacuum system that of course the C2's don't have.
The paint I'll send out to be done. Good news is that while the paint is bad, the body itself is perfect, not hits, and no cracks and the stainless trim is all in great shape.

if interested, you can see some pics of the car here on my website. These I took about a month ago when I first went to look at the car after hearing about it. It's sitting in the sellers driveway where it's sat for the last year completely untouched.

The car looks pretty good. It shouldn't take long for you to whip it into shape. Congratulations and welcome to the C3 group!

Hi Jim

here is my website
http://69.253.166.197/index.html
just click on 'Corvette Pages" and you can see all the pics of my '65 that you would ever want to

believe me, when I start working on the '78 I'll have LOTS of questions and I'll be taking photos and posting them up onto the website as I go along.

Hey, i see you are at the Joisey shore. are you in the Boardwalk Corvette Club? If so do you know Mark Richman who hangs out in the C1/C2 section?

thanks for the kind words everyone.

I'm going to have a LOT of questions for everyone when I start working on her as I have NO clue about all the emission control stuff and the vacuum system on these cars. I just started learning how to work on my much simpler C2 this fall.
I need to order up the NCRS TIM&JG and a shop manual for this car as a start anyway.

Andy, those two fugly characters are you and me!
yep everyone, Andy was there with me when I went to look at the car. His son hated it and told me run, not walk away from it. Andy still has serious doubts about my judgment on buying this thing
Andy, you should know me well enough by now that when I get something into my head I don't give up easily. Just look at what I had to learn to get the work on the '65 done.
