Installing a 5" Autometer
Any suggestions on how/where to mount the 5" Autometer -- beside hose clamping it to the steering column?
I have thought about a custom aluminum plate that screws in between the intrument bezel and the top of the dash...but don't know if that area is strong enough to support it? Anyone else mount one?

when mine was in...it was mounted on the inside curve of the dash to the right of the original tach...if you put a bracket on the back of the mount on the other side of the are you are mounting too it will support just fine...sorry no pictures of it

There are diagrams of the aluminum mount plate to install the 5" Autometers in place of the factory gauges. Corvettefaq or the forum archives should have it. Quite a few people have done it, and I've never heard of a problem.
