Anyone tried and/or compared the Crosswind to the Air Gap? I've read reports that the Crosswind needs quite a bit of clean up before being usable. Besides, it is not that much cheaper than the Air Gap. I do realize that the Professional Products intakes come from China.
I used a polished Crosswind on my old streetrod.I was very happy with the intake. It was $129 vs $299 for the polished Airgap. The finish was nice and the fit was right on.
I tend to agree, but $170 will buy nice valve covers. Not everything the Chinese make is crappy, Chinasport loads great ammo. The only thing that defeats commies is capitalism, & we have to buy their products to increase their capitalistic desires. On the other hand, I do like supporting US businesses. Decisions, decisions

Personally i think it is worth the extra cash to support our usa companies. It mite cost a little bit more, but i like knowing im supporting a american made product. Keeps our country guys having jobs
when i built my engine last yr. i got a crosswind. once i got it home i noticed the caveman like attempt to clean the casting flash from around all the holes was terrible. and on the rest of the manifold they didnt bother to clean up the flash at all. i noticed some edges that were not square, and uneven casting inside the intake track. i returned it the following day and ordered the air-gap. thats what i get for trying to save a few bones, and not buying american.
i also have one of their balancers. it has performed well, but all the paint and fancy timing stickers came off the first week.
If you can afford the upkeep on a vette, than an extra hundy should not bother you. I just picked up my Air Gap the other day (used for $150, on the car less than 20 miles)
