Instead of leaf springs there are torsion bars and also what some manufactures car torque boxes, which are sorta like big blocks of rubber that the stub axles mount in. Sounds strange but they really do work. Leaf springs have been around for ever, just require more looking after.
I bought a 20' Hualmark with dovetail, paneling inside and torsion axles. I paid $6500.00 out the door. I have been very happy with the trailer. A Corvette fits in it perfectly. I have actually put my 59 Pontiac in it. I will post pics tomorrow.
I also love having a trailer to load move things easily just open it up and toss it in.
One downfall to an enclosed trailer I have encountered is I have moved more people from house to house than myself!
There is always those idiots that ask to borrow it. I loaned it once and will never do it again!

My trailer is a carmate. They are built not too far from where you live. It is a 20 foot. The only thing I would do different would have been to get an access door on the left side. That way you can open your car door right to the outside. I also would have gotten a 10,000 lbs gross instead of the 7000lbs.

I went with steel,I think it will hold up a little better then the aluminum ones, plus much less expensive.Aluminum will fatigue quicker then steel, unless it is a thick section of material =then you lose the weight advantage.

Here in Pa we have to deal with rust problems. I'm concidering all aluminum so it will last longer! When I get something I tend to keep it (pack rat). Thanks
