Is there a eletronic tach conversion anywhere out there??? Buy the way I am new to this fourm and this is my frist Corvette.

there are several companies out there who will make the conversion for you, or you can go with the original mechanincal stye. whiel there are issues with the cables breaking, there is a 90 degree adaptor that takes out the bend that causes problems. I have this on mine and have no issues. as far as aftermarket goes, I have converted mine to an HEI unit with a mechanical tach from D.U.I ( performance distribuitors) and am very pleased with the set up. Just depends on what you want to do

Welcome to the forum....and welcome to Vette-dom! There are lots of options out there for all years of Corvettes. One of the first decisions you need to make is whether you keep your car "original" or not. If there have been lots of modifications already, I guess the decision is made. If not, think about it a bit. Cars kept original tend to hold value better. If yours is close to original, you may want to repair the tach rather than replace it with non-standard equipment. There is no "right" or "wrong"....it's basically what you want to do with YOUR car.
