I have an Ecklers Fiberglass Front Bumper that is not lineing up properly on my 74. I have searched other threads and it seems like everyone else's bumpers lined up perfect right out of the box. There is about a 1/2 inch gap along the sides at the top and no gap at the bottom. Is this something the body shop can fix? Is this problem common? Any Ideas?
Thanks

Chances are you have an ACI bumper, and they are good quality. Fiberglass front bumpers are the trickiest especially if the body has been repaired previously. No two bodys were assembled the same way especially in the right and left front corners, the urethane bumpers flex to fit the body, fiberglass bumpers don't flex. In the end the fiberglass bumper will look much better, so it's worth the extra effort. If the shop you've chosen has done Corvettes before, they will know what to do. If you want some advice I need to see what you have. Tape the new bumper to the body with some masking tape and take some photos of the gaps on each side and across the top.
