i've used my snoblower 3 times this year.....its a used 4.5 hp single stage two cycle unit i picked up used from Jims79 in trade for some vette parts....then i paid $70 for new auger blade rubber thingys and a new belt....it works well for the limited snow we get and side walk/ drive way that i have.
i have used it the last two times because it was a new toy....this last snow i let my son Bobby use it the 18 yr old i did the vette project with....i just started it and gave him no instructions other then....don't run over anything like a newspaper cause it just burns up the belt ( found that out on day 1).....so i watched him start and smiled as he cleared a path that he would then have to shoot snow over inthe next path...some lessons are best learned the hard way...i also didn't tell him about blowing snow into the wind.....remember last week end the heavy winds....
so he did a good job and was all finished came into the house and i said well did you figure out how to do it??? he said yeah. don't blow snow into the wind and make sure you don't blow snow over cleaned areas....we never did have to use any silicone or wd40
Have you lubed the impeller and/or the chute ?
Try cleaning it out again and coat the clogged areas with WD40,
or PAM, or even ski wax.
Wet snow needs additional lubricant. Spray with PAM or WD40. Also, make sure the all the surfaces the snow contacts are smooth. You can smooth them with fine sandpaper or scotch brite pads.
I have a single stage snow thrower on my 12 hp cub cadet. pic I run it a full throttle and keep the auger loaded. That gives the best results.
Some of the guys on the cub cadet forum paint the inside of the snow blower with " lubri-plate" which is a graphite based paint. They sell it in pint/quart cans at tractor supply stores and hardware stores.
I have looked through my parts books and can't find any mention of this snow blower thing. How does it boost Vette performance. BTW, my wife came home this evening complaining that the Suburban AC wasn't putting out.
