Hehe...I know what that's like. I'm currently awaiting a Power Steering Valve from VB&P; if it gets here today (and it doesn't rain this weekend) I'll be installing it.
My terrier mutt HATES the FedEx/UPS guys that come to the house; he's one of these high strung types that goes ballistic anytime he hears so much as a snail fart. He's got great hearing, and anytime the UPS guy's truck pulls onto our street he starts yapping.
It's great, because not many people get deliveries on our street; if the Man In Brown is coming, it's usually something for us. Doggie Early Warning Service comes in handy.
Yep....I'm waiting for my new Dell too!! I have one of the XPS M170 laptops comin!! I can't wait!! With the wireless connection I'll be able to surf CF from anywhere in the house....even the bathroom.
Make sure you turn on security and encryption on that wireless.
I've been using Dells for about 8 years, havent had very many problems with them. Over the years I've purchased and maintained about 500 Dells.
i honestly didnt think i would ever own anything with dells name on it. that changed last week. ive been eye balling their 2001fp monitors for some time now, and after haveing it for a week now i absolutly love it.
the image quality is great and the response time is great. im a very avid gamer and this monitor is exactly what i was hopeing for.
now if those damn S-video cables would just show up so i can hook up my game consoles.
Although this post was supposed to be about UPS, I noticed a lot of postings about Dell Computers.
I got very upset, about 3 months ago, about all the security problems with Microsoft PC's. To me it's outrageaous as to how every week you learn that some teenager in some third world country has learned how to install malicisous code on your internet connected PC. It seems like ever week I had to load securityh updates on my home PC, my corporate PC, and my US government PC. This is really ridiculous. For home use, I bought a mini-Mac for $499 to use to interconnect to the internet. The iMac's are not susceptible to all the virus/security problems of the PC. The reason is that, of course that's not that many people using Macs on the internet, but the main reason is that Apple so far will not release the code to their Operating System/hardware interactions so the hackers really don't have knowledge to attack. Anothr reason is that with the MAC, no one can write on your hard disk without your approval. In the months that I've had my Mac, I haven't had to load any virus/security software.
I have a mini-Mac, it cost $499, and I sprung for the 20 inch LCD monitor. My Gateway PC(with a lot of capable stuff is in the garage with all my Corvette parts.)
