Default Jegster Radiator systems?

Does anyone have any experience with These ?

It would be going into a '79. The overall dimensions are alittle different but with saving $500 on an electric fan/aluminum radiator kit, I think I could manage.

This car is not in good enough condition to worry about numbers matching. It is a driver and a toy for me and my dad to work on. And yes engin mods are in the future.

Please help the noob.

I don't have one of those kits, but Jeg's stuff is usually pretty good quality.

If anyone has any other suggestions I'd be open to hear them.

This is just the best I've found on the internet. How much of a change in power/cooling do people with electric fan kits notice?

So I've decided the universal fit idea is more of a PITA than I'm willing to deal with right now. I'm down to three choices.

Be Cool
Ron Davis
DeWitts

Anyone have any good or bad things to say about any of them?

I just ordered a Dewitts restoration rad with the 16" fan kit today. Should have it in in the next week or so. Went with them because of a history of good feedback from people on this forum. If you're still hunting once I get it in, I'll post up and let you know.

DeWitts! Period.
When it come to corvette radiators there really is no second choice.
He may not be the least expensive but he is the best by far and if his radiators cost a few dollars more you will more than make up for it in the ease of installation because it actually fits properly and because you KNOW your cooling system will be up to the task. Not to mention he has one of the best customer service in the business.
After dealing with Tom DeWitt 3 months ago on the radiator in my '65 if I ever need another one for either of my vettes I wouldn't even consider any other brand regardless of price (and I've been laid off work for almost 2 years now so money ALWAYS is a factor for me).

The more I read the break down seems to be this.

DeWitts-Loved by Corvette Purests
BeCool- Loved by Hotrod community
Ron Davis- Loved by racing community.

I'm leaning tward the Ron Davis. If it is good enough for the LeMans Corvettes it is good enough for me.

actually, I'd say it's loved by Corvette OWNERS, purists or custom guys.
The reason is simple. They FIT without hassle or cutting of brackets or anything. The fact that they fit correctly is reason enough for me but as a bonus they work extremely well for what they are designed to do, cool the system.

whatever, it's your money, go with what you want.

admittedly, it is mostly for bragging rights and to have something different than everyone else. They make dirrect fit models. Hell they have a whole seprate corvette catalog (So I guess I won't be that different).

DeWitts is a Forum sponsor, stands behind his product, and has a good product. It's not the cheapest, but sometimes you get what you pay for. It will be a direct, bolt-in, no-mods fit. Buy from him, and be done with it for another 30 years.

i got a becool in my 76 with the dual elec. fans and it fit perfect. didnt have to modify or cut anything and i love it. im sure DeWitts fits perfect and i have never heard anything bad about the company or the radiators and i wouldnt hesitate to order from them but i do get a little peved when people say that other brands such as Be-Cool dont fit perfect when i know that they do or at least for a 76 they do and it fit perfect with my original rusted radiator support and with my new support and again with no mods at all. fit and finish are perfect

Actually when you compare pricing on the Direct Fit models, we are the cheapest. Both Be-cool and Ron Davis cost more.
