Default L-88 Block for sale on e-bay

Is anybody looking for an L-88 427 Big Block to rebuild? If so, I just saw this on e-bay.

Except it`s not a L88 with those numbers. # 6 is up and it appears to have a big dome on the piston {12.5-1 [?] }. But anyone can build a clone that will have the same specs as a true L88. Without the correct engine pad suffix number I do not forsee that anyone would actually spend the money for correct L88 rods and pistons and install them in the wrong block. It is however those same innards that make the mistique of the L88.

That's kind of what I was afraid of.

There's just something about an L-88 that is music to the ears.

The LA suffix is a 1969 390 HP Pass car engine W/ 3 or 4 spd. Probably 2 Bolt Main. The 512 block is 1969, 1970 or 1971 And IS 2 Bolt Main

Im guessing the suffix code he listed of "4LA" is actually "ALA" and that the block is actually the following:

ALA
1977 427cid
Truck block
220 horse power
L-43
540 trans???
4-Brl
C 60

Just my guess though

Looks like the LA block is:

LA 69 427 Impala 390 L-36 3 Spd 4-Brl Super Sport

Nice block, but not an L88...
