Even though I was born in the 50's, I remember 90% of that stuff!

DC comic books were 10 cents apiece. For a quarter you could buy 2 and enough candy to make yourself sick

Good times indeed!

Yes, it is easy to romanticize an earlier time. One of my few vivid memories of early childhood.. ok, it wasn't the 50s, it was around 61... the Cuban missile crisis. I remember my friend assuring me that with the single push of a button the whole world would blow up. I was really afraid. Not a fun time at all. There are many things for people to worry about today, but total nuclear destruction of the world has not been at the forefront for a long time.

Well, gotta give the guy credit! He does mention the Korean War and the nuclear threat at the end of the video.. but comeon!! "We were in fear of our lives, but at least it wasn't from driveby shootings!" Yes, we were in fear of the end of the world!!

This also reminded me of another story. Yes, I remember milk delivered to our door every morning by the milkman. I even remember cream at the top of the bottle before homogenized milk. We would get 2 large glass bottles delivered. They were 1/2 gallon each, and had a plastic handle at the top around the neck of the bottle. My older brother was kind of a nerdy, klutzy kid (now he is a biophysics professor!). One day he was bringing the milk in, a bottle in each hand, held by the plastic handle. He was swinging his arms together and managed to crash the 2 bottles into each other, breaking both bottles over the living room floor!!!! That was 1 full gallon of milk plus glass all over the livingroom floor!!!! Ah yes, thos were the good old days!

I remember them well. thats a great site. had my first car in '55 a '55 ford custom liner 2 dr coupe 6 cylinder 3 speed/od waterfall blue. graduated from high school in '58 a year late cause i got kicked out of senior english class for talking back to teacher a no-no back then. had to go back the next year just to take english. although is also had to stay a half day in school. so I had english, phys-ed and library. graduated in '58. it was fun though a friend of mine who had a '32 high boy roadster would cut phys ed and library and go play the pinball machines. they would pay off back then. any way it was a fun time.

I guess I'm glad to say I remember those days. I also remember those 10 petty coats that the gals wore.
