Did anyone else buy their car from pro team? Most of their stuff is high dollar restored models, but the 71 I bought from them was in original condition so I got it at a reasonable price.
I was going to buy from Pro Team but instead my wife talked me into buying the same vette from someone else, a new truck, an addition to our house and pay for our sons private school for the next four years all for the same price. hahahaha
Seriously though, they seemed really high to me and I hope you got a good deal. They did have some nice rides!

If you are happy with the car you got, than your deal doesn't matter. Four years ago I was looking for a '69-'72 roadster, they had 4 in original condition including an LT1, but I felt they were more than a little overpriced and I could do better elsewhere. For some reason they didn't want much to do with C3's when I was there, their bread and butter is the C1 and C2's and the salesman made that clear to me and that comment turned me off, and I'll never go back. It's a great place to visit, and the collection of cars is fantastic, I call it a private collection that happens to be for sale.
So, did I mess up by buying from pro team? This was the only place "close" that had exactly what I was looking for. You have to understand, in southern Indiana, there are very few 68-72 corvettes for sale. I check all of the trader books I can get, and all of the cars are like 8 hours away. I think I got a good deal. The car is a 71 coupe, ontario orange, with a 350 and 4 speed. Just what I was wanting. It is a bloomington gold survivor car. It has a no hit body and is wearing the original paint. Basically, all it needs to be really nice is a paint job.
I dont think you messed up, if you truly love what you bought and you thought it was a decent price for what you have then you did great. Hell if I could afford their cars I would buy from them. They have some really nice rides.
Enjoy your ride, dont second guess yourself... its too late now.

Pro Team has a reputation for taking plain cars and making them into high option cars.
They also have cars that they did NOT mess with. Sounds like that may be your car.
Also, if you paint your car, you can't claim "survivor" status anymore. Your choice, your car
Most of all, if YOU are happy with YOUR car that's all that matters.
The survivor status doesn't really bother me. The car needs a paint job. It is cracking and peeling everywhere. I knew that when I bought it. I used to work in a body shop so I can paint it myself, cheap. Also, my car is not a super rare high optioned model. It is the base 350, standard 4 speed, power steering, power brakes, standard interior, no tilt, no power windows. It has a posi rear end. The only sort of rare part it has is the rear window defroster.

I don't know how knowledgable you are on Corvettes, so I just wanted to make you aware of that of "ruining" the survivor status if it was painted.
Glad to hear you can paint the car yourself. You can save some serious $$$$ .

Sounds like you found the car you were looking for.
Welcome to the Corvette Forum and we look forward to hearing about your progress on fixing your car up.
Since you are happy with the car, ENJOy IT! These cars are only going up, so it was a good investment that's what you wanted. When and if you ever sell it, you'll think I got a heck of a deal and I had fun, how long are we here anyway. Miles of smiles, when i start mine I can not help but smile hearing a real engine and exhaust, not a quiet hum of a Asain car.
