I had been chasing an exhaust leak for.....lets just say..."quite a while"...when I finally found the problem....I bought these flowtech ceramic coated headers off of ebay for a few bucks less than most online mags......look at the pics....there is a F*&%$ng hole in the main tube......even worse someone made a pathetic attempt at welding a bead to plug the hole......between this and my motor I will never buy e-crap stuff again

OK, we get the point that you don't seem to be that great at discount shopping. You have to be careful. But if you want to stay away from eBay, be my guest - it'll help keep prices down for me.

No, actually I think I'm starting a new career....E-bay salesman ....In fact I have a really great deal on some ceramic coated third generation corvette headers....Just a few bucks less than jegs and summit.......Save some money buy from me.
Ebay is a gamble at best. Most sellers are reputable, but returns are a headache. It seems like you are the victim of fraud, the headers were not advertised as having been repaired or used, were they? There is the IFCC (Internet Fraud Complaint Center) of the FBI, tell the seller you are going to contact them regarding your transaction if he is uncooperative.
Also ebay has an insurance company for claims like this, they are called Auction Insurance. They got involved when I bought a Vet off of Ebay and it had a trashed frame, the car was advertised as Straight, never hit. Yeah... right...
DO file a complaint with the ebay resolution center, it takes time but may get you your money back. And make sure that you leave this jerk NEGATIVE feedback!
Good Luck!

And they come complete with holes for the air injector anti smog pump too, don't they?
I feel for you, Been There, Done That and Got the Badge too...

To each their own, that is what makes up this country of ours... were all different. To date, I have never found a bargain on ebay, however, I am sure they exist. In most cases, I can find a "new" item for sale on ebay and most usually is priced for more than what I can pay at a retailer. Dont get me wrong, I still shop at ebay on a very limited occasion but even then, most of my transactions are less than desireable mostly from experiences like this one.
If we are helping to keep the prices down for you by not shopping at ebay.... then..... your welcome.
I've bought alot of stuff on Ebay including my Vette but you have to be careful. I always use Paypal. I have had only one problem with something I bought and Ebay straightened it out right away.
Just my experience with them.
Aside from the rip off factor, how did the Flotechs fit? I was thinking about a pair. Any comment on that?
Rick
The flowtechs (aside from the hole in them) have been fine....I actually just broke out my mig welder and a file and fixed them up......I am running them with 2.5" pipe and flowmaster 40's............which will be coming off to make room for hooker stainless sidepipes....(not from ebay)...
That can happen to headers from anyone. I have a friend who bought new Hooker headers from Jegs for his C4 a few weeks ago. They had that same problem. Jegs straightened it out, no problems. I don't think it is fair to blame Ebay for the product you bought. Sounds like you just got some defective merchandise. It happens.

Ebay is a valid resource, but, as has been said, it's a gamble at best. I've made it a policy not to buy anything on ebay, that I can easily buy new, somewhere else. Very often, ebay prices, with shipping, end up being as much, if not more, than the new price from a reputable vendor.
Sharkman: Do you have AC? Did the headers drag? They seem like good street "tq" exhaust. Any fitment issues?
Rick
No A/C...the headers were a perfect fit....the only PITA was removing the clutch linkage to get the drivers side to fit.......Headers did not drag.....If I were to do it over, I would spend the extra and go for hooker super comps....
There are plenty of things you can find on ebay......But I agree with Dude that if you can find it in a Jegs/Summit catalog buy it from them instead.........Ebay would be a good source for hard to find parts etc.......By the way, the seller I bought the headers from had a long history of good ratings
I bought my ceramic flowtechs from sumitt and they had a small pinhole in them also, near the flange. luckily I noticed it before they were installed and just touched it up with my mig. other than that they were fine and sealed well
