Default what engine?

Just found that I'm non numbers matching... Ok.. So what would you do? It was a small block '71. What would you put under the hood. I think I wanna keep the 350 hood but what about under it? Stay small block? Get a 502 like Rich's '69?

I personally think I'd go with a big small block. A 383 or 406 small block would be great. I just think a big block would throw off the handling too much. Of course your budget will probably have a say in what you get. My 79 is numbers matching and I'd still love to yank the L82, put it to the side and throw in a 383.

The big question is what do you want to do with the car? Is it going to be a show car, a race car, a daily driver, a weekend cruiser, or ???? Tell us that and we can then give you some realistic answers.

It'll be a weekender that should be more stable than scary fast. I'll be working mostly on suspenson and the like until I get the scratch together for a new engine. I'm thinking small block for sure. Would want 300-400 horses. Gotta smoke em once in a while!
