I believe my 69 seats are original to the car and they don't have headrests.... I think I remember reading once somewhere that headrests were a $18 option in 69....I could be wrong.
I believe you're right. I owned a '69 in 1973 and remember the adjustable headrests were optional. I'm too old now the remember the pricing; in fact my family is going to let me hide my own Easter eggs this year...
Thanks everyone. Most of the pictures I've seen don't have the headrests, and I bought new seat covers which don't provide anything for the headrests. Guess I'll have to buy them separately.
Just got harness guides at a local auto swap meet,too....
I really like this Andover set...bolted right in at stock locations...you can order different colors..just takes longer..I went with black in contrast with dark green interior...$249...
Complete set..lap,shoulder,retractors,new hardware,etc....

According to the NCRS 1969 judging manual..."While optional in 1968, for 1969, they were a mandatory option until January 1, 1969, when they became standard equipment."

I can live with that. Explains why the Black Book shows the "option" installed on total '69 production.
Know two guys, had their 69's since 70, no head rests. Back in the middle 70's, helped a guy build a SCCA B Prod or was it A, can't remember the class..anyway, guy bought a 69, parted the interior, I got the seats, and sold them 2 years ago on ebay. No head rests...that's three 69's that I saw without head rests..
