Thanks for the heads up! There was a recent post on custom leather boots with accent stitching and such (if I recall correctly) try and check it out. Return the cr@py one if you can.
I bought one from CC too, it was a POS. If you want a good quality boot the only way to go is Redlinegoods. I bought two custom length boots from them, both looked very good and fit well. You will need to reuse your metal band though and it's easier to install with the console plate removed.
I understand that it cost big $$$ to make repo parts in the States and most US suppliers don't want to be bothered with the low volume but why is the quality of parts from China always so bad? India too.

Just look around on this forum for the answer... Threads everyday about "where can I find the cheapest this", and "who has the lowest cost that". All people care about is cheap. It's an epidemic. A few times someone has come on the forum and advertised US made quality products and they get slammed for being expensive.

Going to have my wife make one from pattern of original....especially after getting that new "puter" sewing machine for $2600....
Hey Rich,
You're on the right track there. I bought one of those Chinese POS boots too. It pulled off the lower screws the first time I shifted to reverse. I asked my wife about it (she's a sewing junkie just like your wife) and she sent me down to the local upholstery shop to get a 1 foot piece of leather. They gave it to me. She took the pattern from my worn out boot and sewed one up better than new, looks absolutely perfect and only took her about 15 minutes.
If your Mrs. won't do it, I'll get my Mrs. to ply her with margaritas until she sees things your way.
Best,
Greg
Thanks..my wife will find time to squeeze it in....but margaritas sound good..I can see her head bobbing right now.... .... .a few years ago,she did my bass boat seats using originals as a pattern.....
Rich
