Default Detroit Frame Shop

I am new to the forum and am using it to research what corvette I want to buy. All of the information that I have found is great. I do have a question for the C3 crowd.

I am sending my cousin this forum, but in the mean time here is my (his) question.

My cousin owns a 1972 small block vert. He had a bracket that attaches the diff to the frame come loose (broken weld), although I am not sure what bracket it is he needs to have it replaced. I believe that he has purchased the bracket but needs to find a competent frame shop in the area. He is located near the 48044 zip code. Is there anyone from the Detroit area able to suggest a shop? Thank you in advance for your help.

I heard about a place in Madison Heights called Masterworks from another Forum member. The owner is a guy by the name of Werner Meier who was a former engineer/manager at GM who did a lot of work with the Corvette while there. He also owns and has restored a number of very rare Corvettes. At any rate, I've heard this shop is his retirement hobby, he knows Corvettes inside and out, and makes sure everything done in his shop is done right. You might give it a try.

Came up with this when I googled:

September 30, 2003 - Long-time NCRS member Werner Meier and his team at Masterworks Automotive Services in Madison Heights, MI are joining the CVJ family. This outstanding group of Corvette specialists will be bringing their expertise to Corvette Video Journal with insightful video segments on technical and restoration topics. Watch for a profile on Masterworks in the first regular issue of CVJ, you will be very impressed with them. You can contact Werner Meier at Masterworks, his phone number is (248) 583-0590
