Heat shields are already patented so no can do. Now if someone has an extra million to buy a laser machine and copy this idea so be it but they can’t do the forming, fabrication and hand polishing as cheep as I can here, at least in the states. Even if someone is able to find a way to get a patent of some sorts they won’t be able to stop me from doing this as from what I understand by me posting this on this forum it is dated and that proves that I was first with the idea. But I am just doing this for my own use but if someone over there wanted to carry these and sell them I would be most happy to supply them.

Can you mass produce those things? If so, you have a big market over here in the states. What kind of supplier do you want, auto parts stores or individual entrepreneurs? As far as the patent idea, I believe that you can patent changes to already patented items. Nonetheless, the heat shield patent is probably well expired.

Thanks all for the encouragement to continue on this project. I hope to have the stingray shields ready next week. I will post pictures when I have a good sample ready.

Those do look great!

What would the price be for a set. I'd pay upfront and check on shipping pricing as well.

What about a group purchase?

Hi Rick

As I mentioned before the main problem is shipping. To ship one set say by UPS the cost will be too much. So a group purchase will have to be by one person and I would ship by sea freight say 30 sets. Then to get the money over here a T/T deposit will have to be made by someone over their. This is why I will approach some vendors that can stock them and distribute them. As soon as I get the Stingray shields ready I will post the pictures and then look for some one to stock them. The costs should be reasonable say a little more than the thin cheese grader ones on the market now, but ten times the quality (heavy polished stainless steel)
