All of those snipers need your ebay name and pass, otherwise how is it gonna bid w/ your account? never had problems w/ esnipe or auctionsniper.

Any of the services will need this information. The idea is that they place a bid for you in the last seconds of the auction. I have used esnipe for the last couple of years with no consequences.

I do my own sniping. I open a window with the US official time clock in it, so I can bid with 5 or less seconds left in the auction.

I don't undestand these snipers,, if you loose out on an auction because someone has bided higher than your max bid,,, maybe you should have put a higher max bid,,??? Maybe theres something I'm missing

The trick is not to bid on the item until the last minute of the auction to help keep the items price down and within reach of us poor folk. If I bid my max with hours and hours left to go anyone can come in and bid over me and if im not at the house or around a computer I wouldnt even have the opportunity to bid higher and would lose the auction. With the snipe service it lets me do other things and it puts my max bid in with 6 seconds to go and gives me a greater chance at winning the auction.

Oh yeah, just won my first auction using the esnipe and im liking it.

Hey I am with you! I place a max bid - get an e-mail from ebay to remind me the bid is almost closing - if someone starts jacking the price up at the end and I loose so be it. Besides I see that happening a lot coming to think of it and that makes me worry. Makes me think the seller has a friend boosting the price at the last second.

Ok, this would only work if the guy biding just before you is at his max bid, because Ebay istantly gives the high bider preference. I have never lost a bid by not attaining my max bid. And this is of course personnal but if I loose an item because it sold over the price I would be prepared to pay,, then to bad, the guy who gets it needs it more than me,,lolll.

LOll, you know what I do when I get suspect a friend doing that, I do an advance serch of the bider in question and check out the other items he's bidded on,, you can see for yourself if he,s bidding and loosing with the same seller.

And of course if somebody outbids me I would NEVER EVER accept an offer from the seller, even at my high bid. ("Oh, the winning bidder backed out... Would you like to buy my item at your bid price?). If the winning bidder wasn't "real" then I probably could have won the auction at a much lower price. Sorry, I am not playing that game!

Have you ever watched an auction that stayed at a very low price, and you are waiting until the last second to place your bid... and then with about 5 minutes left in the auction the seller ends the auction because the price is too low??

Sort of, for a Dodge Dakota to haul the Vette.

I'm not really that bugged on the snipage anyway, I found one near the same price at Buy-It-Now a few hours later.
