Newb Question: What is lars?
season - due to working out of the country. I guess if he's out of the
country, then it's tough for him to rebuild carbs by mail, too.
From the horses mouth: every carb he rebuilds will get tested on his C2 vette.
This vette has been run with HUNDREDS of different carbs, which were then
delivered to their owners in nearly every continent on the globe.
I have a bed that Lars slept on ... starting bids ??

J/K - actually, it is our bed now ... took it from my kid when he asked for a smaller one.
Now, I did come across some used distributor springs ... I might part with those.
Tuning for Beer is THE ***** ... and a ball, too. pics from last June:
I missed most of Day one at Joe's place in MA:

I was fortunate to attend a Tuning for Beer tour in Northern Virginia last year and Lars tuned my '75. He's a great guy who also helped me paint my car and even gave me his home phone number to call and talk things over when I was uncomfortable.
Here's to a great guy!

Don't believe a word they say. They're all drunks and can't be trusted...
The reason I'm not taking any more carb rebuilds right now is two-fold: First, I'm disassembling and rebuilding the car I use as the Forum Carb Testbed. Without testing capability, I can't set up carbs, because I actually test run every carb I rebuild and set up. Secondly, I have a very dynamic and unpredictable out-of-country travel schedule with my job right now, so I cannot commit to turn-around times, completion dates, and I can't make dates for Tuning Tours. As soon as this settles out a little, I'll be able to get more into Vette things again. Hope everyone has a great summer: Use those tuning hammers, and keep the beer cold..!

Well I have to say i'm impressed with the amount of respect you get, from these forums alone. I seen a lot of posts with reference to 'lars' and was curious, sorry, i'm new to the boards. I have a project i'm doing that is very sentimental to me...and curious if you may be available later in 06' or early 07'... www.stingray.741.com <~pic's of the project. Basically, my dad passed away in Nov, 05 and I am restoring his vette that hasn't been drove in 25 years and I don't know much about adjusting carbs... and it's 69' L71 tri-power setup...and I heard setting up three-deuce is pretty rough. My goal is to possibly get an NCRS award when done with resto and I want to do this right....so I thought i'd ask how your schedule may be later down the road
Not only is he great with carburetors, but he is extremely helpful and started a carburetor loan service on this forum where he would send you a carb to use and he would fix yours and return it. The loaner was passed around the forum from one member to another. He is extremely reasonably priced and his turn around time is lightning fast. He also travels to different parts of the country and will have a bunch of people show up with their Corvettes and he will tune the carbs and distributors. The man is phenominal and a real asset to this forum. He also writes extensive papers on how to do things and publishes them on the forum no charge.
No you know what a Lars is. You want him to work on your car, believe me you will be happy.
