Rear window defogger

Last night at Wal-Mart, I stopped by the automotive clearance section. There, I found an auxilliary window defogger that is made to clip onto a visor and plug into a cigarette lighter. The unit is about 6"x 6"x2", and it looks like it will fit nicely on the center roof panel between the back of the t-tops and the front of the window. It's angled at the outlet side so I don't think there will be any problems getting the window to clear it. While it is made as a temporary, moveable unit, I don't think it will be hard to convert it to a switched, permanent installation. The little beastie cost me $25. I'll see if I can find a picture and more information to post later.
I would think your head might hit it or in an accident it could get airborne and do a job on the back of your head.
I have a 68 with the rear window defogger option and I am thinking that you could mount a small blower with the ducting to make a more permanently installed and out of sight unit in the rear storage area like the original unit is.
Just a thought,
Kurt

If anyone is interested, here's the link to the manufacturer's store: http://thermtech.sitedx.com/m_17.asp...to+Heat+6000c+
They want $65 for it, which is ridiculous. Wal-Mart had it for $25, marked down from $30.
As far as ducting goes .. I saw the perfect candidate for a homemade
setup.
While cruising to work in my beater Honda CRX, I saw the missing piece.
Right in the top of the door panel, there is a side window defogging bezel.
It is skinny and angled to hit a window. One of these could be mounted easily
in the rear 1/4 panel trim - like originals. Then a small blower and duct to finish off.
Sorry to hijack .. looks like that unit would work - and a good score @ $25.
