Default Interesting Radiator cap

I've never bought anything from JC Whitney but somehow I'm on their mailing list and in their catalog they sell radiator caps with a built in thermometer.
They come anodized in four colors and even thou it's not something I would use on my car it might come in handy to check water temps.
At $20 cheaper than an infared temp gun. Just a thought.

Since I don't trust the temp gauge I put one of these on the 68, very accurate.

Louie, great idea, we use similar setups on our large industrial engines and generators but hadn't thought about applying it to the automobile engine. One other thought, we also buy these industrial thermometers with little marker tabs built-in that are pushed by the needle to show the highest / lowest run temps. The maintenance folks reset the High / Low each time the units are inspected or overhauled.

Humor is sometimes the best medicine. I pushed in my vette right before the softball size hail started falling. two of our cars got ruined with hail damage. Im luckier than most around here though, many others lost homes/businesses and a got hit a lot worse.
